The Wayland High School “Water Warriors” represent a group of Wayland High School students assisted by parents and teachers who provide free swim and water safety lessons to Wayland METCO students in grades 1-8.  This program began in 2011 and provides free swim lessons to 30 METCO students.  In 2012, there are 42 METCO students enrolled. By all accounts, these lessons promote after-school fitness and water safety, and foster important mentoring relationships between high school and younger students.
